Dear parents
I do hope that you and your family are in good health and are enjoying the holiday.
I hope that you found the revision sheets helpful and have completed them.
please find below some information about the latest power point you should have received.
PATTERNS
When we come back to school next week we are beginning a new topic – Patterns
During this theme, which should cover about 3 weeks the children will learn how
• to identify patterns
• to say a pattern
• to copy a pattern
• to extend a pattern
• and eventually to create their own ones.
This covers patterns of objects, of sound and of movement.
In the power point we are looking at patterns of objects – patterns of sounds and movement will be covered in class.
We will be looking at simple patterns – called AB , or AAB , or ABB.
AB is a pattern ex: red – blue / red – blue / red - blue
AAB is a pattern ex: red – red – blue / red – red – blue / red – red – blue / ABB is a pattern ex: red – blue – blue / red – blue – blue / red – blue – blue
The presentation is meant to be only an introduction to patterns – so don’t push your child to fully understand it – we will be doing all of the things in class – we wanted to give some pointers – so that the children will bring some understanding of the lessons with them when we return – it has been a long holiday for them. I DO HOPE THEY HAVE ENJOYED IT.
Hope this makes things clear for you all. Enjoy the presentation and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Love to the children – although holiday times are lovely – I do miss them.
try looking for patterns - on things (clothes or material) and try making your own patterns from any thing you have at home - toys / books /
